Dr. Iros Vaja is a well-known academic and a leading voice in English literature. He currently serves as an Associate Professor and Head of the Department of English at MVM Arts College, Rajkot, Gujarat, India. Dr. Vaja is an Executive Council Member of the Indian Association for Canadian Studies (IACS) and a Former Chairperson of the Board of Studies in English at Saurashtra University, Rajkot, where he served as the Chairman for three successive terms.

With an extensive portfolio of research, Dr. Vaja has presented numerous papers at national and international conferences and seminars, often serving as a session chair. His scholarly articles have been published in several prestigious journals. In 2016, he represented India at the Annual General Meeting of the IACS held in Ottawa, Canada. He has also presented papers at international conferences in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, and participated in the 39th GITEX Technology Week in Dubai, UAE, in 2019. Dr. Vaja is the recipient of the Chanakya Award (2008) for Social and Educational Services. He was honored with the Vedant Excellence Award (2020) for his outstanding contributions to education and research. Most recently, he received the Luminary Award, presented by Christ College in January 2025.

Dr. Vaja's academic journey comes with an impressive set of qualifications. He holds a Master of Arts degree in English and a Ph.D. in English Literature. He further pursued a Master of Arts in Philosophy, a Master of Journalism and Mass Communication (MJMC) - where he secured first rank at the university level - and a second Ph.D. in Mass Communication. Additionally, he holds a Bachelor's Degree in Law, a Diploma in Creative Writing in English from IGNOU, and a patent for the Technology-Enabled English Language Teaching Method on an Artificial Intelligence-Based Vocabulary Acquiring Apparatus.

As a dedicated educator, Dr. Vaja serves as an Academic Counsellor at Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU). He has guided numerous students to successfully obtain their doctoral degrees and has served as a Ph.D. viva voce examiner at various universities across the country. He is a regular voice on radio and a familiar face on television, having delivered many thought-provoking talks on diverse topics. He is a valued member of several advisory and editorial boards of refereed international journals and has delivered expert lectures at various universities.

Dr. Vaja is the author of Myths in Girish Karnad’s Plays: A Critical Study and Role of Mass Media in Higher Education. His research interests include Indian Writing in English, Comparative Literature, Translation Studies, Journalism, Philosophy, Information and Communication Technology (ICT), Law, and Creative Writing in English.
